Manchester United Eyes Christos Tzolis as Summer Transfer Target

Manchester United has kicked off its summer planning, aiming to bolster its attack following a season marked by frequent player rotation in wide positions.

The team has experimented with various profiles on both flanks, but there is a pressing need for more consistent performance to advance to the next level.

As European competition looms, recruitment strategies are becoming increasingly focused.

A rising star from Belgium has now further fueled the speculation surrounding United’s plans.

Christos Tzolis, who has had a breakthrough season with Club Brugge after his move from Fortuna Dusseldorf in the summer of 2024, has been exceptional, racking up 22 goals and 29 assists in all competitions. He has quickly established himself as one of the most prolific attacking talents in Belgian football.

This impressive form has not gone unnoticed, with Manchester United among several clubs monitoring his progress, alongside Juventus and Aston Villa.

Brugge reportedly values Tzolis highly and intends to set a new Belgian transfer record if they decide to sell, exceeding the €36 million fee paid by AC Milan for Ardon Jashari.

Tzolis has prior experience in English football from his time at Norwich City and is now being linked to a return to the Premier League at a more competitive level.

However, the most significant development is Tzolis’ recent comments about his future and a possible move to Old Trafford.

Christos Tzolis Opens Door to Manchester United Move

“United could convince me,” he stated in an interview with Het Nieuwsblad.

“Such a massive club with so much history. It would be hard to say no to that.”

He emphasized that any next move in his career must align with his ambitions at the highest level of European football, stating, “It would have to be a Champions League team from England, Germany, Spain, or Italy.”

Tzolis added, “Only PSG is a better option than those clubs.”

This statement arrives at a critical time for Manchester United, which has secured Champions League qualification, enhancing its appeal in the transfer market.

Throughout the current season, the squad has seen heavy rotation in wide positions. Matheus Cunha has often played on the left, while Patrick Dorgu has also been utilized more offensively at times.

On the opposite flank, both Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo have been featured.

For United, Tzolis’ comments are likely to be taken into careful consideration.
