At 22 years old, Nelson has built a strong reputation as a physically imposing and technically skilled defender.

Standing at 6ft 5in, he offers significant aerial prowess, while his versatility—capable of playing as a left-back—has garnered attention, especially for United given their current defensive situation.

This season, the club has encountered multiple setbacks in central defense.

Matthijs de Ligt struggled with a serious back injury that kept him out for much of the campaign before undergoing surgery, while Lisandro Martinez has faced fitness issues that disrupted his momentum.
