The Cameroonian Football Federation is actively pursuing the appointment of French coach Hervé Renard as the new manager of the national team, the Indomitable Lions. Under the leadership of Samuel Eto’o, the governing body is considering a reshuffle in the coaching staff.
This move comes as officials discuss the potential replacement of David Pagou, who has held the managerial role since the last Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco. The Federation’s focus appears to be on securing Renard’s expertise to lead the team into the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers starting next September.
Reports from local media indicate that the Federation has already initiated contact with the 57-year-old coach. Renard’s extensive experience in African football includes successful stints with Zambia, Ivory Coast, Angola, and Morocco, highlighting his capability to contribute to the Indomitable Lions’ success.
Renard’s managerial credentials are underlined by his achievements, including winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Zambia in 2012 and with Ivory Coast in 2015.
