FIFA has announced the appointment of three Qatari referees to officiate the Group K World Cup match featuring the Democratic Republic of Congo. This match is significant as it marks the Leopards’ debut at the World Cup, occurring on 17 June.
The Democratic Republic of Congo will be making its first appearance on the world stage in 52 years. The opening match is set to take place at 5 pm GMT in the tournament hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Abdulrahman Al Jassim will serve as the main referee for this encounter, with Taleb Al Marri and Saoud Almaqaleh assisting him.
In Group K, the Democratic Republic of Congo will also compete against Portugal on 17 June, Colombia on 24 June, and Uzbekistan on 28 June.
