Manchester City is moving forward in its efforts to acquire Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, maintaining a strong sense of optimism despite initial setbacks in negotiations.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Manchester City has already submitted a bid of £121 million for the young midfielder; however, this offer has been rejected by the Forest board.

Nevertheless, Manchester City remains hopeful as they view Anderson as a key target to strengthen their midfield. The club intends to continue discussions with Nottingham Forest, which is firmly holding on to its valuation of the player.

City aims to secure a transfer fee for the 22-year-old that would surpass the current British transfer record, set by Alexander Isak’s move to Liverpool, valued at £125 million.
