The USA continues to deliver surprising stories from the world of sports.

The Spanish national team recently faced an unexpected incident involving their striker, Borja Iglesias. Reports circulating on social media platform X indicate that the 33-year-old forward was initially denied entry to Spain’s training center due to a failure of recognition by the security personnel.

Iglesias had left the training facility on a day off as granted by head coach Konrad De la Fuente. However, upon his return, he encountered difficulties gaining access.

Attempting to identify himself, Iglesias informed the security staff of his role as a national team member, saying:

“I’m part of the national team, I need to get inside.”

After a call was made to the Spanish delegation, Iglesias was eventually permitted to enter, concluding this humorous episode.

Discipline on display: Cape Verde committed just one foul against Spain.
