A last-minute goal scored by Serge Gnabry ensured Bayern Munich achieved a narrow 3-2 victory over VfL Wolfsburg in the German League (Bundesliga) on Sunday (25/8/2024) night. This victory is a good start for the Bavarian club’s new coach Vincent Kompany.
Wolfsburg started the first half brightly, but it was the visitors who created the better chances in the first half. Munich took the lead after some fine work from Frenchman Sacha Boey down the right flank who teed up Jamal Musiala to score.
Bayern started the second half badly, as they gave away a penalty after Tiago Tomas was brought down by Boey, and Lovro Majer made no mistake from the spot.
Wolfsburg caused problems for the visitors’ defence and Majer struck again in the 55th minute.
An own goal by winger Jakub Kaminski brought Bayern level (2-2), before Gnabry scored to secure all three points for the Bavarian club.
