Manchester United is active in the January transfer window, making changes not only at the first-team level but also with academy players looking for more playing time.

Recently, they loaned Toby Collyer to Hull City in the Championship.

The club is also set to complete the transfer of defender Rhys Bennett to Fleetwood Town this month.

In another update, Scottish Premiership team Kilmarnock has officially signed Joe Hugill from Manchester United on a permanent deal.

Hugill’s agreement runs until May 2027, pending international clearance.

He leaves Old Trafford after years in United’s academy, known for being a strong striker with good scoring ability.

The 22-year-old joined United in 2020 after coming up through the youth systems at Newcastle United and Sunderland, choosing Manchester despite interest from other Premier League teams.

Although he had limited chances with the first team, United arranged several loan spells to help him grow as a player.

He gained important experience in the English football league with teams like Altrincham, Burton Albion, Wigan Athletic, Carlisle United, and most recently Barnet, which helped him adjust to the rigors of senior football.

This permanent move offers Hugill the chance to play regularly, while United works on refining their approach to developing players from the academy to the first team during this transfer window.
