Bangladesh struggled with their batting from the start. Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain were both dismissed without scoring. Captain and wicketkeeper Liton Das contributed 28 runs off 26 balls, being the top scorer for his team. Jacker Ali (41) and Shamim Hossain (42) also performed well. Wanindu Hasaranga took two wickets for Sri Lanka, while Nuwan Thushara and Dushmantha Chameera each took one wicket.
In response, Sri Lanka chased down the target, scoring 140 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 14.4 overs. Pathum Nissanka provided a strong start with 50 runs off 34 balls, including six fours and one six. Kamindu Mendis secured the victory with an unbeaten 46 runs. Mahmudul Hasan took two wickets for Bangladesh.
