Kalpetta: The Kerala Press Workers Union is organizing the Adani Tiruvananthapuram Royals Journalist Cricket League (JCL 2025), with the third season starting tomorrow (September 12, Friday). The three-day tournament will take place at the Krishna Giri Stadium in Meenangadi, Wayanad. Four teams will participate, including teams from various press clubs in Kerala, the state team of the Kerala Press Workers Union, and the Kerala Sports Journalist Association team.
Over three hundred media professionals will be part of the tournament. There will also be matches featuring celebrity teams. Priyanka Gandhi MP will inaugurate the tournament, along with prominent figures from sports and politics. Following the matches, a mega musical event will also be held. The closing ceremony and awards presentation will take place on the 14th at 5 PM at the Krishna Giri Stadium.
The JCL is being organized in Wayanad for the first time, and it’s exciting to hold it at Krishna Giri, one of the most beautiful stadiums in the country, said Suresh Edappal, state secretary of the Kerala Press Workers Union, at a press conference in Kalpetta. The tournament, featuring top cricket players from the media sector, is of great importance to the Kerala Press Workers Union. He added that preparations in Wayanad are in the final stages and they expect great matches.
Joy Nair, the sports convenor of the Kerala Press Workers Union, along with KS Mustafa, president of the Wayanad Press Club, and Jomon Joseph, secretary, also attended the press conference.
