With 29 matchdays completed in the 2025/26 Premier League season, it’s a great time to review the Team of the Season so far.
GK Gianluigi Donnarumma, Manchester City
This season has not been the strongest for Premier League goalkeepers, especially with Liverpool‘s Alisson Becker facing challenges. However, Gianluigi Donnarumma has kept his status as one of the best. His shot-stopping ability has significantly improved Manchester City’s defense, ranking him third in save percentage, along with being among the leaders in clean sheets and fewest goals allowed.
LB Lewis Hall, Newcastle
Lewis Hall edged out Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly for the left-back spot due to his strong ball progression stats, completing nearly three dribbles and drawing fouls this season.
CB Gabriel Magalhaes, Arsenal
Gabriel Magalhaes is a solid choice for center back. His performances deserve more recognition, as he has been exceptional this season, rarely needing to make defensive interventions.
CB Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool
Virgil van Dijk continues to impress and shows no signs of slowing down. He has been crucial for a Liverpool defense that has struggled at times, proving difficult for opponents to bypass.
RB Jurrien Timber, Arsenal
The right-back position is generally lacking in quality this season, but Arsenal’s Jurrien Timber stands out as one of the top fullbacks in Europe. He has also contributed with three goals and five assists this season.
CM Declan Rice, Arsenal
Declan Rice has become one of Europe’s finest deep-lying playmakers, serving as a vital part of Arsenal’s midfield. He has surpassed Martin Odegaard as the team’s key player, tallying nine goal contributions and averaging about two key passes per game, all while excelling defensively.
CM Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle
Bruno Guimaraes is having a remarkable season with nine goals and four assists, showcasing his skills as a box-to-box midfielder. His overall performance has kept Elliot Anderson off the Team of the Season list.
AM Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United
Bruno Fernandes leads the league with 14 assists this season, solidifying his role as a top creator for Manchester United. Under Michael Carrick, he has continued to elevate his game.
LW Antoine Semenyo, Manchester City
The left wing position is thin, with few strong contenders. Antoine Semenyo currently stands out as the best left winger, even if it’s not his primary role at Man City.
ST Erling Haaland, Manchester City
Erling Haaland leads the Premier League with an impressive 22 goals and has also contributed seven assists, enhancing his ability to create chances. He is clearly the top striker in the league.
RW Bukayo Saka, Arsenal
Bukayo Saka earns a well-deserved spot on the Team of the Season. He has been a consistent performer in a right wing position that lacks depth. His skills in creation and efficient dribbling highlight his potential for even better numbers with another high-caliber teammate.
