Benjamin Sesko joined Old Trafford last summer, taking over as the club’s main striker from Rasmus Hojlund. This change seems to be a smart move.
The Slovenian player came from RB Leipzig for £73.7 million, while Hojlund was loaned to Napoli.
Since arriving, Sesko has netted ten goals and provided one assist in 28 matches.
His recent performances have led to him gaining a new nickname at the club.
Due to his impressive jumping ability, the 1.95m tall striker has been playfully dubbed “Air Sesko.”
Moreover, his knack for scoring in four out of seven matches when coming off the bench has earned him the title “super-sub.”
In February, he came on as a substitute and scored winners against Fulham and Everton, as well as securing a draw against West Ham United.
However, The Daily Mail reports that Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, is not fond of this nickname. He stated, “If you ask me about this name, I don’t like it. I prefer ‘super striker’.”
He added, “I think Benjamin is a super striker.”
“He has started 13 matches this year and came off the bench in 13 as well. He scored half of his goals as a starter and the other half as a substitute.
“We can see he is a complete striker, and Benjamin deserves the title ‘super striker’.”
At just 22 years old and in his first Premier League season, Sesko shows great potential for the future at United.
Unfortunately, he has had to withdraw from international duty, remaining at Carrington during the break.
