When Ruben Amorim was let go, many did not expect such a smooth transition. However, interim manager Michael Carrick has led United to seven wins and only one loss in his first ten games.

This impressive performance means United now needs four wins and a draw from their last seven matches to return to the Champions League after two years away.

This situation has complicated the decision regarding the next full-time manager.

Despite the positive results, the club’s leadership insists on a complete evaluation process.

Recent weeks have seen names like Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann mentioned, but the hiring of Roberto de Zerbi by Tottenham and contract extensions for Thomas Tuchel with England and Carlo Ancelotti with Brazil have narrowed the options.

Within the team, support for Carrick is growing.

Amad Diallo has been one of the most vocal supporters. After successful loan spells at Rangers and Sunderland, he has become a key attacking player.

This season, he has contributed two goals and three assists in the league, showcasing his ability to drive play forward.

Under Carrick, his role in the starting team has been flexible.

During United’s training camp in Ireland, Amad commented, “It’s not for us to decide, but he’s been great for the team. He has experience, knows the club, and has the right approach.”

He added, “Since he arrived, he has been clear about wanting to win and to reach the Champions League next season. He works well with each player and we are happy to have him as our manager.”

“A manager like him can help the club get to where it needs to be. From my perspective, he’s the right choice, but it’s not for the players to decide.”

This support highlights Carrick’s connection with the team. Having spent over ten years at Old Trafford, both as a player and a coach, he understands the club culture, which has led to improved morale recently.

While Amad has shown support for Carrick as the permanent manager, the final decision will not come from the players.
