Arsenal supporters are familiar with the usual comments from football pundits, and by now in the 2025/26 Premier League season, they’ve heard it all about their team.

Despite winning games and defeating strong opponents, any match where they don’t clearly dominate leads to accusations of being bottlers or frauds, which is often echoed across various media channels.

Recently, Arsenal executed a solid defensive strategy to secure a 1-0 victory over Chelsea, advancing to the League Cup Final against Manchester City with a 4-2 aggregate win over their London rivals in 2026.

However, post-game discussions were filled with critiques, particularly aimed at striker Viktor Gyokeres. The 27-year-old Swedish international frequently becomes a target for pundits, even when the criticisms aren’t relevant to the match, as seen in the League Cup semifinal against Chelsea.

Gyokeres has scored four goals in his last three Champions League matches and found the net in his latest Premier League game, showing strong performance recently. Yet, the focus remains on negative comments about the No. 9.

This negativity is becoming frustrating. While Gyokeres may not be a world-class player, Arsenal fans recognize he is a substantial improvement from last season’s options. The team visibly performs better with him on the pitch, and it seems critics continue to make negative remarks just to attract attention towards Arsenal.
