Arsenal‘s defensive midfielder Martin Zubimendi has played a vital role in helping the team control the midfield during the Premier League season. However, he is starting to show signs of fatigue.

Currently, Zubimendi leads the Premier League in total distance covered, having run nearly 300 kilometers. No other player, including Everton’s James Garner or Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, has matched his effort.

Fans have noticed that Zubimendi is wearing down, and they appreciate his hard work that allows other players, like Ballon d’Or candidate Declan Rice, to excel.

Many Arsenal supporters have urged manager Mikel Arteta to give Zubimendi a break for some time now. They believe that new signing Christian Norgaard, formerly of Brentford, is capable of stepping up in the starting lineup.

Even with the title race tightening and Manchester City applying pressure, Norgaard has shown he can perform well. This season, he has impressed not just for Brentford but also for Arsenal, especially in cup matches.

When he had a chance to play 14 minutes in a recent rivalry match against Chelsea, Arsenal maintained their performance without any issues.

It seems clear that Arsenal should consider regularly playing Norgaard. While he may not match Zubimendi’s abilities, he brings strong defensive skills and can effectively maintain possession.
