Marcos Llorente and Julian Alvarez punish Kinsky mistakes as Atletico Madrid dominate first half
Back-up Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky had a tough start to his Champions League debut, getting substituted in the 17th minute after two mistakes led to goals for Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old Czech goalkeeper was given his first start since October and just his third game this season, a bold decision by Spurs manager Igor Tudor that did not pay off.
In the sixth minute, Kinsky slipped while trying to clear the ball, allowing Marcos Llorente to score the opening goal for Atletico. Shortly after, Antoine Griezmann scored to make it 2-0. Kinsky then tried to make a quick pass out of his area with his left foot but missed the ball again, giving Julian Alvarez an easy chance to score into an empty net.
