Atletico Madrid advanced to the Copa del Rey final despite losing 3-0 in the second leg to Barcelona. Barcelona’s efforts to stage a comeback were not enough.
Atletico started with a strong 4-0 lead from the first leg. Marc Bernal scored twice, with Raphinha adding a penalty, giving Barcelona some hope. However, they faced a tough challenge.
Barcelona aimed for an early goal, and Fermin Lopez nearly struck just after 71 seconds, hitting the crossbar. Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and Lamine Yamal missed key chances before Bernal scored in the 29th minute after Yamal set him up.
Atletico’s most significant chance in the first half came when Lookman headed over the bar. Moments later, Marc Pubill fouled Pedri, giving Raphinha a penalty that he successfully converted just before half-time.
Barcelona maintained control, and in the 72nd minute, another corner led to Bernal scoring again, bringing them closer.
Bernal missed a chance for a hat trick by shooting over, while Yamal curled a shot wide later. Atletico managed to hold on, securing their spot in the final.
