Tottenham Faces Setback in Manager Search
Tottenham Hotspur is looking for a new permanent manager after parting ways with Thomas Frank.
Frank was let go following a 2-1 loss to Newcastle United on Tuesday. This defeat left Spurs in 16th place, just five points above the relegation zone. The team is struggling, having gone eight matches without a win, and needs significant improvement in the coming months to avoid relegation.
Various candidates have been linked to the managerial position at Spurs. Roberto de Zerbi, who recently ended his contract with Marseille, is eager to take over. Mauricio Pochettino has also expressed interest in returning but is currently occupied with his role in the USMNT.
Andoni Iraola’s Future Amid Tottenham Interest
Another contender for the Spurs job is Andoni Iraola.
Iraola has built a solid reputation at Bournemouth since joining from Rayo Vallecano in June 2023. Under his leadership, Bournemouth finished 12th in the current season and ninth last year, achieving a record points total of 56. However, his contract expires at the end of the season, raising questions about his future.
According to an exclusive report from GIVEMESPORT, Iraola is not keen on the Tottenham position and prefers to remain with Bournemouth for now. He sees Tottenham as a significant club but is aiming for larger opportunities, possibly in Europe or a return to Athletic Bilbao, where he played for 12 years.
Following Frank’s dismissal, Tottenham seeks a manager who aligns with the club’s style, focusing on exciting, high-energy football and a return to trophy contention. While Iraola is still building his managerial resume, his work ethic and approach at Bournemouth have made them one of the league’s most entertaining sides.
Iraola’s reluctance to join Tottenham, however, underscores the challenges the club currently faces.
