  • Burnley remains deep in the relegation zone, alongside Wolves and West Ham United.

  • Mikkel Damsgaard scored his first brace for Brentford, including the winning goal.

Mikkel Damsgaard scored a last-minute winner as Brentford held off Burnley’s strong comeback to win 4-3.

The Bees led 3-0 before Burnley fought back to equalize, but Damsgaard sealed the win in stoppage time.

Brentford started well, taking the lead in the 9th minute with Damsgaard’s header from Dango Ouattara’s corner. Damsgaard then assisted Igor Thiago, who made it 2-0 in the 25th minute.

Kevin Schade added the third goal in the 34th minute, scoring after a long throw-in was blocked on the line.

The hosts began their comeback just before halftime when Michael Kayode accidentally turned Jaidon Anthony’s shot into his own goal.

Kayode struck again just after the break, deflecting another Anthony shot past goalkeeper Hakon Valdimarsson. Zian Flemming leveled the game at 3-3 in the 60th minute with a header from Hannibal Mejbri’s cross.

Flemming seemed to score the go-ahead goal for Burnley in the 79th minute, but a VAR review showed Anthony was offside in the buildup.

Brentford regained the lead in the 93rd minute when Damsgaard scored again. Burnley had a chance to equalize at the death, but another VAR review ruled out a goal by Ashley Barnes for accidental handball.
