After Ruben Amorim left his role as Manchester United manager, the team’s outlook for the season looked uncertain. However, the selection of Michael Carrick as interim head coach until the end of the 2025/26 season has proven effective, as the Red Devils have won all four matches, moving up to fourth place in the Premier League.
Following their 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, Bruno Fernandes shared his thoughts on Carrick’s management during an interview with TNT Sports.
Manchester United Shows Strong Performance Under Michael Carrick
Carrick Receives Recognition
Manchester United maintained impressive form under Carrick with a solid 2-0 win at home against a struggling Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham’s captain, Cristian Romero, received a red card for a reckless tackle on Casemiro in the first half, effectively ending their chances of a good result. Bryan Mbeumo scored the first goal for United, followed by a well-placed second goal from Fernandes that confirmed the three points. This marks Carrick’s fourth straight win since taking over.
Bruno Fernandes Shares Thoughts on Carrick
Fernandes mentioned in his interview with TNT Sports that he had recognized Carrick’s potential to be a successful manager back during their previous time together in 2021:
“I think Michael came in with the right ideas of giving the players the responsibility,” Fernandes told TNT Sports. “He’s very good with the words.”
“I think he still remembers what I told him the last time he was our manager. I always believed Michael could be a great manager, and he’s proving that.”
What lies ahead for Manchester United this season remains to be seen, but the start under Carrick has been promising, and players appear to be rallying behind the interim head coach.
