Manchester United players Casemiro and Matheus Cunha will represent Brazil in the World Cup this summer.

As the World Cup approaches, Casemiro is focused on his responsibilities at Manchester United. He has confirmed plans to leave the club at the end of the season, but his performances have not suffered. Casemiro continues to be an important player for Carlo Ancelotti’s team and plays regularly in midfield.

The atmosphere at Old Trafford has changed since Michael Carrick became head coach, taking over after Ruben Amorim’s 14-month period.

Both Casemiro and Matheus Cunha have gained from this new stability. Reports suggest that Ancelotti has a group of players he is likely to select for the World Cup, given they remain healthy.

After nearly eight months in his position, Ancelotti has had the chance to assess players and establish a dependable core for the Brazil national team.

According to ESPN, 11 players are almost guaranteed a spot in the squad unless there are injuries or unexpected changes.

Casemiro and Cunha are on this list, which reflects their strong performances with United. There is hope they can keep this form through the rest of the season.

Casemiro’s World Cup history with Brazil

Casemiro has made 82 appearances for Brazil, progressing through the U17 and U20 levels. He has played in only eight World Cup matches.

This year presents a chance for him to increase this number, especially as it could be his last opportunity unless he receives a surprise selection in four years.

Most of Casemiro’s international appearances (38) have been in friendlies. For Matheus Cunha, this will be his first World Cup.
