Champions League 24/25 PSG Stun Liverpool:
If Liverpool is the demon, then PSG just became the demon slayer. This was not foreseen from any POV and yet it has weaved into reality. PSG are through to the quarter finals after defeating Liverpool in penalties. A match that swayed like a pendulum was what the fans needed from the Champions league nights and the teams delivered.
From almost going out in the league phase, to now defeating the leaders of the league phase who only lost on the last matchday during the whole league phase that too with a depleted squad, Paris-Saint Germain have grown in the competition.
PSG have come a long way from the Mbappe, Neymar and Messi era and now Barcola and Co. Are here to run the proceedings.
PSG vs Liverpool: How the match panned out
The match started the same it ended on the 1st night in Paris just Liverpool were the ones who failed to convert the chances, Salah missing 2 chances in the first 10 minutes. After the nerves settled, PSG came into the game and the midfield of the Parisians started seeing more of the ball. Vitinha and Joao Neves, the Portuguese duo were excellent from the 15 minute mark.

After turning the possession, Ousmane Dembele got the tie equaliser and made it 1-0 on the night with a pass to the goal. Konate committed to the ball leaving Alisson and himself in a pickle with the ball luckily trickling into the path of Dembele.
After that, PSG was dominant on the ball and lethal on attack. 2 chances got begging as Barcola and Dembele lost the ball due to bad final touches.
PSG should have scored another
PSG should have scored another here but Liverpool were just hanging on. The first half was a replay of the 1st night in Paris, where Alisson denied any trespassing of the goal.
The 2nd half was more like it, as Liverpool started seeing more of the ball and pressing aggressively as a team.
It was the first time Liverpool played well in the tie but failed to pounce on the chances and were wayward as the game ended 1-0 but the tie stood 1-1, which saw the game entering the extra time. Liverpool again were good in the starting 10 minutes but then it was just a PSG show after that.
The game was still on and it was time for penalties.
The penalties was a poor display from Liverpool as only 1 got converted and in the end PSG won with ease. Alisson kept Liverpool in the game till the regulation time but couldn’t take his team through.
