Despite recent results at Hill Dickinson Stadium not meeting expectations, Alcaraz appreciates the chance to play for fans at the club.
In an interview with Everton’s website, he shared how their support impacts him: “Honestly, when they chant my name even before I come on, it gives me goosebumps. It’s special and doesn’t happen to every player.”
“I’ve been at big clubs with great fans, but Everton fans stand out because they’re fantastic. They’re always singing and supportive.”
“Since I arrived, I’ve felt welcomed, and that’s why I chose to stay here. I enjoy being here with the fans at this great club, Everton, and I hope to stay for many more years.”
Recently, the midfielder has not played much under Moyes, seeing only 11 minutes across four league games.
His start against Bournemouth last December did not impress some fans.
Charly Alcaraz may be considered for a forward role amid Everton’s scoring challenges
Moyes is facing difficulties finding solutions for the team’s attack this season. Players like Thierno Barry and Beto have struggled with consistency and finishing.
Goals have been hard to come by for Everton this campaign.
In light of this, Everton News columnist Alan Myers suggested using Alcaraz as a striker option due to the current struggles in attack.
If not as a forward, fans are aware that Charly can still contribute creatively in midfield. During his loan under Moyes, he scored twice and assisted three times, numbers that compare well with other squad members.
