Chelsea will take on Wolves on the 7th of February at Molineux.

Chelsea is set to face Wolves on Saturday, aiming to recover from their recent defeat to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final. The team is keen to secure a top-four finish as they compete for Champions League spots, particularly with Manchester United‘s improved performance.

After a 1-0 loss at the Emirates, Chelsea was eliminated 4-2 on aggregate, and now sits sixth in the Premier League with 40 points from 24 matches. They are just one point ahead of Liverpool and one point behind Manchester United in fourth place.

Wolves are struggling at the bottom of the table, having only 8 points and being 18 points away from safety with 14 games left. Their chances of avoiding relegation appear slim, despite some competitive performances under Rob Edwards. Last weekend, they lost 2-0 to Bournemouth and sold star attacker Jorgen Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace during the January transfer window.

Here is a possible lineup for Chelsea against Wolves.

Predicted Chelsea lineup vs. Wolves

Goalkeeper: Robert Sanchez

Filip Jorgensen is doubtful for Saturday’s match due to an injury sustained against Arsenal. Sanchez is expected to remain in goal.

Defence: Malo Gusto, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella

Reece James missed the Carabao Cup match due to a fitness issue, and his status for Molineux is uncertain. If he can’t play, Gusto will likely take over at right-back. Cucurella will continue on the left, with Fofana and Chalobah in central defense. Adarabioyo is out with a hamstring injury, and Colwill is still recovering from a knee injury.

Midfield: Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez

Caicedo and Fernandez will probably start together in midfield, offering a mix of defensive strength and creativity.

Attack: Estevao Willian, Cole Palmer, Alejandro Garnacho, Joao Pedro

Jamie Gittens is unavailable due to a hamstring injury, and Pedro Neto is also doubtful. Rosenior is optimistic about both Palmer and Willian’s fitness, stating they could play the entire match if necessary. Palmer will likely function as the playmaker behind Pedro, who has scored nine Premier League goals this season. Willian should start on the right, with Garnacho on the left.
