Kenji Mboma Dem scored the equalizing goal with an assist from Ayoub Jabbari during stoppage time, helping FC Cincinnati tie 1-1 with Toronto FC on Saturday afternoon.

Despite playing the last 19 minutes with one less player, Cincinnati managed to secure a point after dealing with an own goal in the 83rd minute.

Toronto FC took the lead 1-0 due to an own goal after a crossing pass unintentionally hit Josh Sargent’s head and was redirected by Gilberto Flores.

Kevin Denkey received a yellow card in the 70th minute for protesting a foul not called in his favor. Just a minute later, he was given a second yellow for an elbowing incident with Benjamin Kuscevic and was sent off.

Cincinnati had four shots on goal, matching Toronto (which is unbeaten in its last five matches) which also had four shots.

FC Cincinnati made its first strong attempt in the sixth minute when Evander broke through midfield and passed to Tom Barlow. However, Barlow’s shot was saved by Toronto FC goalkeeper Luka Gavran.

The first half was quiet until Evander drew a yellow card against Jonathan Osorio in stoppage time, leading to a free kick near the box. Matt Miazga’s header was then saved by Gavran. The halftime score was 0-0.

In the second half, Denkey found himself in the corner of Cincinnati’s attacking area and passed to Evander, who failed to convert from six yards out. Shortly after, Nick Hagglund met an Evander corner kick, but Gavran made a knee save in the 54th minute.

In the 59th minute, Sargent received a pass from Daniel Salloi, but Samuel Gidi’s challenge deflected the ball wide of the goal at the last moment.
