Chennaiyin FC has officially announced Clifford Miranda as their new head coach. This marks a historic change, as he becomes the first Indian to hold the coaching position in the ISL era. The announcement on October 17, 2025, follows the departure of Scottish manager Owen Coyle after a disappointing performance in the 2024–25 season.

At 43, Miranda brings international experience and a deep understanding of Indian football. The former midfielder has played 45 matches for the Indian national team and previously coached Odisha FC. In 2023, he led the team to a Super Cup victory, becoming the first Indian coach to win a major ISL-era trophy. He has also served as an assistant coach at prominent clubs like FC Goa, Mohun Bagan SG, and Mumbai City FC.
