Croatia has secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They achieved this by defeating the Faroe Islands 3-1 in a match held in Rijeka on Friday night. The Faroe Islands took a surprise lead with a goal from Gesa David Turi, but Croatia quickly bounced back.

Josko Gvardiol equalized for Croatia shortly after, and in the second half, goals from Petar Musa and Nikola Vlasic ensured their victory. With this win, Croatia finished first in Group L, six points ahead of the Czech Republic, securing their place in the World Cup with one match still to play.

The Faroe Islands’ hopes of qualifying for the World Cup have now ended, as they can no longer compete for a playoff spot.
