Expansion team Denver Summit FC has signed defender Eva Gaetino from Paris Saint-Germain, a club in France’s top division.
Her contract with the Summit runs through the 2028 season. The club announced this signing on Saturday, although financial details were not disclosed.
Gaetino, who is 23 years old and hails from Dexter, Michigan, has made two appearances for the U.S. women’s national team.
During her college career at Notre Dame from 2020 to 2023, she played in 76 matches, starting 75. She was named a first-team All-American twice and won the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year award two years in a row.
“Joining Denver Summit FC is an exciting next step for me,” she said. “This club is building something special, and I’m honored to be part of it from the beginning. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience, competing at the highest level in the NWSL, and helping set the standard for this team.”
After signing with Paris Saint-Germain in 2024, she scored in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinals and won the Coupe de France Feminine with the team.
“Eva is a special talent who has competed at the highest levels of the game at a young age,” said Denver general manager Curt Johnson. “Her experience in the Champions League, her success at Notre Dame, and her continued growth as a player make her an outstanding addition to our roster as we build toward our inaugural season.”
