Everton plans to pursue Fulham winger Harry Wilson in the upcoming summer transfer window after a previous attempt in January did not succeed. Journalist Pete O’Rourke mentioned on the Transfer Insider podcast that Everton made a formal inquiry last month, which Fulham quickly rejected.
Everton shows interest in Harry Wilson
The Welsh international is nearing the end of his contract at Craven Cottage, prompting interest from various domestic and international clubs. With his deal expiring in June, Everton views this as a chance to acquire a skilled Premier League player without a hefty transfer fee.
On the Transfer Insider podcast, O’Rourke noted: “I think probably half the Premier League are looking at Harry Wilson. Everton made a cheeky inquiry in the January transfer window, which was quickly rebuffed by Fulham, but I’m sure they’ll come back, and there will be overseas clubs interested in Wilson too.”
He added, “He’s been in excellent form for Fulham recently. The competition for Wilson is wide open right now.”
Overview of the Harry Wilson situation and Everton’s need
The 28-year-old Wilson remains an important player for Fulham, though his future at the club appears uncertain. While Fulham appreciates his contributions, Wilson has not signed a contract extension, complicating the situation.
Wilson brings a unique left-footed balance to the right side, allowing him to cut inside for long-range shots or accurate crosses. His technical skills and set-piece abilities are among the league’s best, but some critics highlight his slower recovery speed as a concern in high-pressing systems.
