This week in the Premier League saw 36 goals scored, as we head into the final stretch with just ten gameweeks left. How is your Fantasy Premier League team performing?
Arsenal remains at the top after defeating Chelsea. Meanwhile, bottom-placed Wolves pulled off a surprise win over Aston Villa, providing them a flicker of hope as the season progresses. But which players shone the brightest this week?
Goalkeepers
In a high-scoring gameweek, goalkeepers had a rough time, with one standing out: Jose Sa, who earned eight points and was this week’s star goalkeeper.
Currently, only 1.2% of FPL players have selected the Portuguese keeper, so those who did are in luck.
West Ham faced a tough match against Liverpool, conceding five goals, resulting in their goalkeeper Mads Hermansen finishing the week with zero points.
Defenders
Rayan Ait-Nouri from Manchester City was the top defender this week. He secured a clean sheet and provided an assist against Leeds, earning a total of 11 points.
William Saliba, less popular than his Arsenal teammates, outperformed them all with ten points.
On the downside, Axel Disasi had a challenging week. His team conceded five goals, and he scored an own goal, resulting in a total of -2 points.
Midfielders
Mikkel Damsgaard had a standout performance, scoring two goals and earning an assist. He was the highest scorer this week with 18 points.
Joao Gomes also performed well, collecting 14 points in his match against Aston Villa.
Conversely, Pedro Neto had a poor gameweek, failing to make an impact against Arsenal and receiving a second yellow card, which led to his ejection.
Forwards
Hugo Ekitike returned to form against West Ham, contributing a goal and two assists for a total of 15 points.
Three forwards finished closely behind him: Danny Welbeck, Eliezer Mayenda, and Beto, each scoring nine points.
Erling Haaland did not play this week. Although he remains the most expensive and highest-scoring player this season, his ongoing injury issues and Manchester City’s demanding schedule might prompt a reevaluation of his role in your team as the season wraps up.
