FC Dallas has transferred goalkeeper Maarten Paes to Ajax, a leading team in the Netherlands, on Monday.
The 27-year-old from the Netherlands kept 26 clean sheets in 128 matches between 2022 and 2025.
“Dallas meant so much to me,” Paes stated. “I arrived in Dallas in 2022, and these past four years have greatly influenced my life. I want to thank the city of Dallas, FC Dallas, and everyone I worked with. These years have been some of the best of my life, and I appreciated every moment. Thank you for all your support. Dallas till I die.”
In 2024, Paes received the MLS All-Star and MLS Save of the Year awards.
With his exit, homegrown player Michael Collodi will take over as the starting goalkeeper when Dallas begins the season at home against Toronto FC on February 21.
