On December 7, 2025, at PJN Stadium in Fatorda, FC Goa defeated East Bengal FC in the AIFF Super Cup final. The match went into extra time and concluded in a penalty shootout, where Goa won 6-5, becoming the first team to claim the Super Cup title three times. This historic victory also secured their spot in the 2026-27 AFC Champions League second playoff.
During the shootout, both FC Goa’s Borja Herrera and Mohammed Basit Rashid, along with East Bengal’s P V Vishnu, missed penalties. Saahil Tavora’s decisive kick sealed the win for Goa.
