In the Copa Libertadores final held at Estadio Monumental in Lima, Peru, Flamengo defeated Palmeiras 1-0 to secure their fourth title. This win makes Flamengo the first Brazilian club to achieve this feat, avenging their loss to Palmeiras in the 2021 final, where they lost 2-1.

In the 67th minute, a corner taken by De Arrascaeta led to a crucial header goal by defender Danilo, securing the victory. The match was intense, featuring 33 fouls and seven yellow cards. Palmeiras had a chance late in the game when Vitor Roque missed an opportunity, which proved costly for them.

Flamengo achieved this title under the guidance of manager Felipe Luis, becoming the ninth person to win a tournament as both a player and a manager. This victory adds to his previous successes with the club in 2019 and 2022. With this win, Flamengo claims their seventh consecutive Copa Libertadores title. They also remain in contention for a treble, including the Brazilian Super Cup and league title, in 2025.

Now with four titles, Flamengo joins Argentina’s Estudiantes. Only Independiente, with seven titles, stands ahead of them. For Flamengo, this marks a significant comeback.
