Goa: Gokulam Kerala FC will face Punjab FC in their first match of Group C in the Super Cup today. The match is scheduled for 4:30 PM at the Bambolim Stadium in Goa. The team has been training for a month under their new Spanish coach. Previously, they participated in the IFA Shield held in Kolkata. Gokulam is entering the Super Cup with a major transformation. Under Spanish coach José Hevia, the squad includes five Spanish players and nine from Kerala, totaling 27 players. The latest addition to the team is forward Alberto Torres from Spain. The team captain is Shibin Raj from Kozhikode. The match will be streamed live on the Indian football YouTube channel.
Next, the team will compete against Bengaluru FC on November 2 and Mohun Bagan SC on November 5. Head coach José Hevia commented, “The team is improving after each training session. This tournament will not be easy, and it will serve as good preparation for the I-League.”
