Gotham FC has signed Norwegian forward Guro Reiten from Chelsea FC in England.
Reiten, who is 31 years old, will be on loan until her Chelsea contract ends in July. After that, she has signed a deal with Gotham that will keep her with the club until 2029.
During her time at Chelsea from 2019 to 2026, Reiten won 13 trophies, including six Women’s Super League titles, four Women’s FA Cups, and three Women’s League Cups.
“I’m very excited to join Gotham FC and thankful for this opportunity,” Reiten stated. “Gotham has created something special over the years, and there is clear ambition here. I’m eager to work hard and do all I can to help the team succeed.”
Reiten scored 59 goals and provided 44 assists in 207 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions.
“Guro is an exceptional player who has consistently excelled at the highest levels,” said Gotham general manager Yael Averbuch West. “Her experience with Chelsea and the Norwegian national team will add valuable leadership and creativity to our squad. We’re thrilled to welcome her to Gotham.”
On the international stage, Reiten has netted 21 goals in 108 matches for Norway. She played a key role in helping her team reach the knockout stage in three consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cups.
