Michael Carrick has made a good start as Manchester United‘s head coach since his appointment in January.
Henry Winter, who co-authored Carrick’s autobiography, shared insights about him in a talkSPORT interview. He mentioned Carrick’s calm demeanor, noting, “After games at Manchester United, he would sit quietly with a glass of red wine, analyzing everything around him.”

Winter noted that it was fitting for Carrick to work with him on his autobiography, allowing Winter to understand the former midfielder deeply.
Since then, Carrick has taken over at Middlesbrough and now leads at Old Trafford, possibly securing a permanent role.
In a conversation with GIVEMESPORT, Winter highlighted Carrick’s focus on developing young players. He stated, “Michael has minimal ego but a strong desire to succeed along with a great understanding of young talents.”
Carrick’s Impact on Kobbie Mainoo
Kobbie Mainoo has greatly benefited from Carrick’s leadership, showing improvement in his performance.
Mainoo had limited playing time under Ruben Amorim but has become a vital part of the squad with Carrick in charge.
At just 20, Mainoo is still evolving, and Carrick aims to support his development for the club’s future.
Previously, there were concerns that Mainoo might seek a transfer under Amorim, but he has now found a sense of stability and direction at Manchester United under Carrick.
