The I-League, India’s second-tier football league, is set for significant changes starting with the 2025-26 season. Alongside alterations to the league’s structure, clubs have proposed a new name: the “Indian Football League.” Clubs have requested that the AIFF Executive Committee approve these changes ahead of the season’s kickoff on February 21, 2026. The governing council will include representatives from major clubs like Gokulam Kerala, Real Kashmir, and Shillong Lajong.
