Tottenham Appoints Igor Tudor as Interim Manager
Tottenham Hotspur has named Igor Tudor as their interim manager until the season ends. He replaces Thomas Frank, who was let go on Wednesday.
Frank joined Spurs from Brentford in June 2025 after the club parted ways with Ange Postecoglou, despite the Australian leading them to the Europa League title in Bilbao. However, a poor performance over the following eight months led the board to dismiss him.
With relegation concerns, Spurs are looking to Tudor not only to keep them in the Premier League but also to secure a respectable finish. Although Tudor has no experience in the Premier League, he brings substantial experience from Italian football, having managed clubs like Udinese, Hellas Verona, Lazio, and Juventus.
Sky Sports Presenter Discusses Tudor’s Appointment
Tudor was dismissed by Juventus in October 2025 after a series of disappointing results. During his time there, he managed 24 games but was let go following an eight-match winless streak.
Football expert Patrick Kendrick believes this is Tudor’s opportunity to make a mark at Tottenham. Sky Sports presenter Dougie Critchley also finds Tudor’s appointment intriguing, noting his experience in challenging situations could be beneficial for Spurs.
“It’s an interesting appointment from Spurs. I don’t think many expected it,” Critchley mentioned on Sky Sports News.
“Tudor did a solid job securing Champions League football for Juventus last season, finishing just one point ahead of Roma. He also came close to reaching the Coppa Italia final with Lazio, losing to Juventus in the semi-finals. He has worked in high-pressure situations.”
“Juventus is the most successful club in Italian football history. Lazio has a very intense atmosphere, especially in their rivalry with Roma. He will need that experience for the upcoming North London derby.”
“While he hasn’t lasted more than 78 games at a club, the focus now is short-term—getting Spurs out of the relegation battle, as they are currently just five points clear. Tudor’s experience in stabilizing teams will be crucial.”
