Interim coach Igor Tudor downplays relegation fears for Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur is currently just four points above the relegation zone after a disappointing season under Thomas Frank.

Following Frank’s dismissal, Igor Tudor has taken over the challenge of keeping Tottenham in the Premier League. The team is now facing tough competition from West Ham and Nottingham Forest to avoid dropping down a league, especially after a heavy 4-1 defeat to Arsenal that highlighted the gap in quality between the teams.

Tudor steps into the role with not only a challenging position in the league but also a long list of injuries, with several key players out and captain Cristian Romero suspended for four games. After the loss to Arsenal, Tudor is looking for a strong response from his team against Fulham this Sunday.

Tudor avoids discussing relegation with players

Before the match against Fulham, Tudor revealed he has not talked about relegation with his players.

“No, I never used it, but not because it’s something too scary,” Tudor stated in an interview with TNT Sports.

“We need to concentrate on ourselves. My focus is on our training because that’s what we can control.”

“We shouldn’t dwell on the future or the points. The points will come from our training and performances.”

“That is our sole focus.”

Focus shifts to the Fulham match

It’s not helpful to discuss relegation while the team is struggling and only a few points clear of the drop zone. Tudor, along with the players and fans, understands the situation, but constant talk won’t help improve things.

Tudor’s approach seems to be working, as his message is clear: Stay focused and work hard to meet the main goal. Although there’s growing pressure on him and his coaching staff, the interim coach is confident that Tottenham will avoid relegation.

However, this confidence needs to translate into results, especially with the upcoming challenge against Fulham, where securing three points will be crucial.
