India’s challenge in the AFC Under-20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 is tough, as they find themselves in Group C. Known as the “Young Tigresses,” the Indian Under-20 women’s football team is up against strong teams like Japan, Australia, and Chinese Taipei, making this one of the most difficult groups in the tournament.
The tournament runs from April 1 to April 18, 2026. This will be India’s first appearance in this tournament since 2006. Japan, a six-time champion, is the top team in Group C, with Australia and Chinese Taipei as the other opponents. India, which qualified from Pot 4 after finishing first in their qualifying group, faces a strong challenge but aims for a historic advancement. The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will qualify for the quarter-finals.
The four teams that reach the semi-finals will qualify to compete in the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup 2026, which will be held in Poland.
