India faced a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Singapore in the AFC qualifying match. Despite drawing in their previous game in Singapore last week, this loss at home was unexpected. India took the lead in the first half but could not hold on as Singapore struck back.
In the 14th minute, Lalchhuanmawia Changte scored a stunning goal for India from 35 yards out, putting them ahead as the ball flew past the Singapore goalkeeper into the top of the net. However, with just minutes left in the first half, Singapore equalized in the 44th minute. Song Yoo-young found the net with a shot into the lower corner, making it 1-1.
The second half saw increased intensity. The critical moment came in the 58th minute when Song Yoo-young scored again, putting Singapore ahead 2-1. India struggled to find an equalizer despite their efforts. With this defeat, India remains at the bottom of the AFC qualifying group with just 2 points from four matches.
