Today (December 3), Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will hold a meeting with key players in Indian football. This includes Indian Super League (ISL) clubs, I-League teams, the All India Football Federation (AIFF), broadcasters, and potential commercial partners.
The ISL is currently on hold due to challenges in renewing its master rights agreement with former commercial partner Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL). The government’s intervention aims to resolve this commercial and operational crisis and stabilize Indian domestic football activities.
The Supreme Court has instructed the Sports Ministry to mediate between conflicting parties to ensure football’s future aligns with global standards, including FIFA regulations. Today’s meeting will cover comprehensive discussions, including economic and structural insights from the federation’s advisors, KPMG India Services LLP.
