Liverpool’s young center back Giovanni Leoni is being considered by Inter Milan as a potential transfer target for summer 2026, alongside center midfielder Curtis Jones.
According to the Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Inter Milan still has an interest in Leoni, despite his unfortunate injury this season. The club is not dismissing the possibility of a move this summer.
Leoni showed great promise for Liverpool in defense while veteran Ibrahima Konate faced difficulties during a contract year. Sadly, he suffered a torn ACL in his debut match against Southampton in the League Cup.
Liverpool has high hopes for Leoni, who they acquired for 26 million pounds last summer when he was still relatively unknown outside Italy. Premier League supporters have since recognized his talent.
Interestingly, Liverpool is also interested in Inter’s star center back Alessandro Bastoni, who is considered one of the best in the world right now. However, Bastoni does not seem keen on leaving Milan, and Inter has no intention of selling him.
Leoni could serve as a bargaining chip, though Liverpool is also reluctant to part with him. With Francesco Acerbi aging and Yan Bisseck in demand, it makes sense for Inter to consider acquiring a young talent like Leoni.
