Indian Super League Update
As the Indian Super League (ISL) prepares to start, clubs are calling for a review of player salaries to ensure their financial stability. Representatives from nine clubs met with the AIFF and the sports ministry, urging the need to either cancel contracts or renegotiate salaries to protect owners’ investments. Presently, clubs are spending 60-70% of their budgets on player salaries. Following the end of the commercial contract with FSDL on December 8, the league currently has no sponsors.
