The ongoing auction for the Indian Super League’s (ISL) commercial rights has seen no bidders, raising concerns about the future of this prominent football league. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) had asked clubs to start pre-season activities, stating that the league would begin in December and that they should also participate in the Super Cup. However, with the bidding deadline passing without any bids, the ISL’s future remains uncertain.
Due to this situation, several clubs, including Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Kerala Blasters, have reportedly paused their team activities, according to the Times of India. Players and staff who participated in the Super Cup will return home. The clubs will only restart pre-season training once a decision about the ISL’s management is made.
