Jeremy Jacquet was Liverpool’s only signing during a quiet January window, joining from Rennes for £21m.

FSG has funds available, and Jamie Carragher has emphasized the need for more defensive support beyond Jacquet.

Fans are eager to see him play, but his debut is still pending. Meanwhile, he might play for Rennes again before finalizing his transfer.

The defender is highly regarded in France, and details about his journey to Liverpool have emerged.

Jeremy Jacquet has faced numerous challenges on his path to Liverpool, and the club appreciates his resilience.

He dislocated his shoulder during his first trial with Rennes and battled Osgood-Schlatter disease as a teenager.

The NHS explains that this condition affects the point where the kneecap tendon connects to the shinbone. Young athletes can experience pain and swelling in this area due to repeated stress.

Several well-known players, including Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen, have had their careers impacted by Osgood-Schlatter disease.

Jayden Danns missed several months due to Osgood-Schlatter disease

Liverpool academy product Jayden Danns, who is the same age as Jacquet, missed about eight months at the U16 level because of the condition and has shared his experience.

“In such a short time, I grew from 5ft 2in to 6ft. I was out for eight months with Osgood, which was very challenging for me. I kept wondering, ‘Why is this happening?’”

“But it teaches you to find ways to improve. Looking back at last season, I wasn’t as strong. I felt a bit awkward on the field!”

Danns is currently recovering from another injury and has not played since September 2025.
