Dominik Szoboszlai proved his value to Liverpool by assisting Alexis Mac Allister’s winning goal against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Instead of opting for an easy play after receiving a throw-in from Joe Gomez, he took a moment to create space before delivering an accurate cross into the box.

This subtle yet crucial moment may not make highlight reels, but it illustrates how central Szoboszlai is to Liverpool’s gameplay.

This influence has led to increased speculation regarding his contract. He has over two years remaining on his current deal, but rumors suggest he might be interested in joining Real Madrid, which has raised concerns.

Despite ongoing discussions about his contract, journalist David Lynch assures that fans need not worry about Szoboszlai leaving this summer.

If Szoboszlai were to leave Liverpool, it would likely be for another top club, given his talent. However, the reports linking him to Real Madrid lack solid backing at this time.

Lynch discussed this with Anfield Index, dismissing rumors about a potential move, stating there’s no credible information to suggest Szoboszlai is leaving Anfield.

“Right now, there’s nothing in it. The speculation started from Hungary’s manager Marco Rossi suggesting he would like to play for Real Madrid,” Lynch explained.

“Do Real Madrid want him? Are they looking for that kind of player at the moment? What would they need to pay, considering he has two years left and Liverpool wants to extend his contract?”

“I haven’t heard anything indicating genuine interest in him or any plans for him to go, so it’s not something to be overly concerned about,” he added.

Focus on Szoboszlai’s contract

Liverpool currently has a good chance to keep Szoboszlai, but contract situations can change quickly, as history has shown.

If he reaches the final two years of his contract without an extension, Liverpool may start feeling pressured. This situation could lead to Szoboszlai considering other options, including a move to Real Madrid.

Liverpool still has time to avoid potential contract issues like they had with Trent Alexander-Arnold. They should act soon to secure Szoboszlai’s future and eliminate any speculation.
