Thrissur, 13/11/2025: Kamaludheen A.K., a player from Thrissur Magic FC, has been selected for the Indian U-23 team for a friendly match against Thailand. He is the pride of Super League Kerala.

Kamaludheen, 21, has been outstanding in Super League Kerala’s second season, securing 3 clean sheets in 5 matches. His performance has placed him among the top goalkeepers in the league. After a disappointing first season, Thrissur Magic FC rebounded under Russian coach Andrei Chernyshev, who chose Kamaludheen as the youth goalkeeper.

This marks the first time a player from Super League Kerala has been selected for the national team. The league aims to provide a platform for young talent to reach national level, successfully achieving this goal in its second season. “Today is a proud day as we witness a player from Super League Kerala making it to the national team,” said Firoz Miran, Managing Director of Super League Kerala.

Kamaludheen began his football journey alongside senior player Mohammed Shafiq and has played for FC Kerala and the East Bengal reserve team. Signing with Thrissur Magic FC was a turning point for his career. His impressive performance in Super League Kerala has led him to the U-23 squad and potentially the main team. “Playing for the national team has always been my dream. I thank my club Thrissur Magic FC and Super League Kerala for this opportunity,” Kamaludheen stated. The Indian team, under head coach Naushad Moosa, will head to Thailand for the match.
