The Red Mariners, the fan group of Kannur Warriors FC, are setting an example for football supporters in Kerala. During the home match, the fans created a vibrant atmosphere at the ground, showing their team spirit with flags and jerseys. After the match, as everyone celebrated and left the stadium, the Red Mariners took the initiative to clean up the litter left behind. They picked up trash from the gallery area, ensuring they left the stadium spotless before departing. This included collecting bottles and food wrappers from their seats.
The Red Mariners also maintained the stadium’s cleanliness during their first match against Thrissur Magic FC. They collected various types of waste, including cans and plastics, and disposed of them properly at designated spots. Their actions serve as a model for other fan groups. The return of football to Kannur after a long time underscores the need to preserve the facilities for future generations, said the Red Mariners.
