Köchi, October 3, 2025: Kerala Blasters FC has signed Spanish center-forward Coldo Obieta to a one-year contract ahead of the new season.

Coldo brings his goal-scoring skills and years of professional experience from Spanish leagues to the Blasters’ attack. The 31-year-old joins the team from the Spanish club Real Union, making this his first international signing for the season.

Born in the Basque Country town of Gernika, Coldo began his football career at his hometown club. He made his senior debut in 2012 and has since played for various Spanish clubs, including Samunido, SD Amorebieta, CD Tudelano, and AD Alcorcon.

Standing at six feet tall, Coldo is known for his strength in the box and precise positioning. His exceptional ability to win aerial duels and finishing skills in counter-attacks will inject new energy into Kerala Blasters’ offense. Primarily playing as a forward, he has showcased his talents in several forward roles in recent years.

Sporting Director Karolis Skinkis on Coldo’s arrival: “Coldo is a top forward with experience in Spanish clubs. I believe his skills will strengthen our attacking lineup.”

Coldo Obieta’s response: “When I received this offer, I researched the club online and saw a lot about the fans. I am very proud to be part of this family. I look forward to stepping on the pitch and giving my best performance.”

CEO Abhik Chatterjee added: “We are happy to welcome Coldo as our first foreign player this season. I believe his experience and goal-scoring ability will strengthen the team and help us in the upcoming matches.”

Coldo will join the team for the pre-season camp, starting on October 7 in Goa. Along with him, other newly signed players will also begin training with the team in Goa this season.
